Create Your First Survey

From an empty workspace to a live, shareable survey.

This walks the whole path once. Later articles go deeper on each step.

    1. Start the survey

Click + Create in the sidebar and choose Survey. You are offered three starting points:

    • Blank — an empty survey you build yourself.
    • Template — a ready-made survey you edit.
    • AI — describe your goal in a sentence and get a full draft.

If you would rather be walked through it, choose Survey — guided instead, which asks four questions and builds the survey from your answers.

    2. Add your questions

Use Add question to append one, then pick its type. Drag the handle on the left of a question to reorder. See Question Types.

    3. Check it

Open Preview and answer the survey the way a respondent would. Switch the preview to the phone frame — most survey responses arrive on a phone.

    4. Publish

Set the survey to Active. Only an active survey accepts responses.

    5. Share it

Publishing takes you to the share screen: a copyable link, a QR code, social buttons and an embed snippet. See Share Survey Link.

    6. Read the results

Responses appear under Analyze → Results as they arrive.

Tip — Send the link to yourself first and submit one answer. It is the fastest way to confirm the whole path works before you send it to anyone else.

    Frequently asked questions

A few minutes. Starting from a template or the AI draft is fastest — describe your goal in a sentence and edit what comes back. A blank survey takes longer only because you are writing every question yourself.

A survey only accepts responses once its status is Active. If you shared the link while it was still a draft, set it to Active and share it again.

Blank is an empty survey you build yourself, Template is a ready-made survey you edit, and AI writes a full draft from a one-sentence description of your goal. All three produce the same kind of survey — they differ only in how much is written for you.

Yes. Questions stay editable while a survey is live, but changing or removing one after responses arrive makes those responses harder to compare. Make structural changes before you send the link widely.

Send the link to yourself and submit one real answer. Preview shows you the questions, but an actual submission confirms the whole path, including where the response lands.
