Create an Automation

Build your first automation from trigger to active.

    Build it

    1. Go to Engage → Automations and create one.
    2. Name it after what it does — "Thank NPS respondents".
    3. Choose the trigger — see Automation Triggers.
    4. Add steps in the order they should run — see Automation Actions.
    5. Save as a draft.

    Check it before activating

The builder flags steps that cannot run — a Send email step with no template chosen, a Add to list step with no list. Fix everything flagged before going live.

    Activate

Set the automation to Active. It now runs for every matching event from that moment. It does not run retroactively for things that already happened.

    Watch the first runs

Open the automation's run history after a day. Each run shows which steps completed. If something failed, the run says which step and why.

    A worked example

Trigger: Survey completed (survey: Post-purchase NPS)
    Step 1: Wait 2 hours
Step 2: Send email (template: "Thanks for the feedback")
    Step 3: Add tag "nps-responded"

Tip — Start with one step. An automation that only adds a tag is still useful, and it proves the trigger fires before you build anything on top of it.
